Son of Toledo pioneer Joseph Secor,  founding partner in Secor, Berdan, & Co., and a major donor for the Toledo Museum of Art. He was active in real estate and banking interests. Secor willed a parcel of downtown property to be sold and the proceeds used to purchase land for a park to be named in honor of his father - Secor Metropark.
