Ernest and Charlie Tiedtke were pioneers in merchandising, wanting to make shopping a special experience with great varieties and novelties, and unique sales promotions.

The Kobackers from Columbus purchased the Tiedtke's store in 1925.  They carried on the sales traditions of the founders. The Tiedtlke brothers then engaged in real estate both in Toledo and Orlando, FL.
