Second wife of Mayor Samuel M. Jones,  she shared her husband's interest in social reform and was an activist for women children issues.  Helen Jones was also an accomplished musician and composer

She was an active member of the Toledo Woman's Club and established Beach House, a shelter for homeless women, named after her mother, Harriet Beach.
