Mclinton Nunn
(1906-1968)
Housing Authority Director
Nunn worked as an educational administrator and served in the U.S. Army from 1943-1944. He came to Toledo in 1950 as executive director of the Toledo Metropolitan Housing Authority.
Nunn was the first African-American in the nation to lead a major public housing authority. He oversaw the desegregation of Toledo's public housing and established the first project for the elderly. He was nationally recognized for his expertise and received many awards.
