Son of William Windus Knight and grandson of Edward Ford. He was a business executive and active in promoting Port of Toledo activity.
He was president of the Plaskon Division of Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Co. He also established the Nicholas Corp., a real estate holding firm. He served on the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority's board of directors as chairman for eighteen years.
