His wife was Edna Ford, daughter of Edward Ford.  The W. W. Knight family continues to support many philanthropical worthwhile area projects and causes such as The Toledo Hospital,  UT's Stranahan Arboretum, Wood County's W.W. Knight Nature Preserve, and The Hospice of NW Ohio.
